I blinked
...and almost a year went by with nary a post. Dearie me. Does seem ripe for New Year's Resolution fodder, doesn't it?
Things I'd like to do in 2009:
(in no particular order)
Learn about website design/creation/hosting and all that other techie stuff I feel like I should know.
Figure out that wee little problem called "what I want to do with my life."
Figure out how to integrate the fun things that make me happy into my life without going broke and alienating everyone around me.
Start running again.
Decide whether or not one is enough.
Write something.
Be happy more with less.
Be miserable less.
On to 2009!

nailed it
The words of dear Shari...like she's been reading my diary or something! (Sorry, hope you don't mind the link! If you object, please let me know and I'll remove it...)
...I still don't know. I'm ready to become part of the "half of all teachers quit in their first five years" statistic, but I no longer know where else I'd go. It's excruciatingly difficult to find "Lady of the Manor (retinue of servants provided)" positions here. I no longer feel skilled for anything else...
I'm not sure what Sherman in a kerchief has to do with my career dilemma, but he makes me smile - something work sure doesn't!

It never fails
Warren left this morning for a 7 day business trip to Boston. Total elapsed time 'til someone got sick: 5 hours.
Picked Sarah up at daycare today to learn she'd been crying pretty much all day long and BONUS! She has a 101 fever.
Just waiting for the dog to start puking, honestly.
However, lest you think this blog is all about whining whenever Warren goes away, here's something... I applied for a summer job! At a bakery! For cake decorating!
So I guess now this blog is merely a place for the occasional post about kids and dogs getting sick and cakes. Dooce I'll never be.

St. Patty's Day cupcakes
Getting in on the cupcake craze... they are so much fun! And not as scary to decorate as a whole cake. I had WAY too much fun making these, and they were so well received at work that I had fleeting thoughts of "gee, I wonder if I could do cupcakes full time?"
Planning on looking for a part time job at a bakery this summer - the munchkin is going to daycare part time anyway (we want her to stay in the swing of things there so we don't have to do a big transition again in the fall), so.... figured maybe working in a bakery would give me a much better idea of what it's like to make a living at it instead of just goofing around in the kitchen.
